A recent discovery of a Gorgon Point WeU has emerged, supporting earlier leaks about its specifications, including core clock rates and integrated GPU details.
Benchmarks Confirm Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 Specifications: 12-Core/24-Thread Config, 5.25 GHz Boost, and Radeon 890M iGPU
In June of this year, a shipping manifest hinted at key details regarding the anticipated Strix Point Refresh or AMD Gorgon Point WeUs. Notably, this upcoming series will build on the established Zen 5 architecture, offering modest improvements over previous models. Recently, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 470 was benchmarked on the SiSoftware platform, confirming its name and core specifications.

Insider @momomo_us recently uncovered a detailed entry on SiSoftware Ranking, showcasing the Ryzen AI 9 HX 470. This processor is an evolution of the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 from the Strix Point family, maintaining the same Zen 5 architecture but featuring enhanced performance with a boost clock reaching 5.25 GHz, compared to 5.1 GHz of its predecessor. The base clock for its Zen 5 cores remains at 2.0 GHz.
The chip is configured with 12 cores and 24 threads, along with the Radeon 890M integrated GPU based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture. Details about the maximum clock speed for the Radeon 890M on this WeU are still pending, but enhancements in this area are anticipated. This particular chipset was tested in an HP Elitebook X G2a, further illustrating its integration into current laptop designs that typically house the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370.

As the official launch of Gorgon Point approaches, enhancements in APU performance are expected. Notably, there are indications of a new L3 cache configuration, reportedly featuring 3x 16 MB on the latest WeU. However, AMD has yet to verify these specifications, so caution is advised.
The Ryzen AI 400 series under the Gorgon Point name will supersede the current Krackan Point chips, consolidating the portfolio under one umbrella. This new lineup will include configurations as low as 4 cores and 8 threads, broadening the options available to consumers. Anticipation builds for AMD’s official announcement, expected early next year, although the specific launch date remains unconfirmed.
