After nearly a year of limited availability, AMD’s budget-friendly X3D model from the Ryzen 7000 series, the Ryzen 5 7600X3D, is now being offered by a wider range of retailers.
Expanded Availability of the Ryzen 5 7600X3D at £299 on Lambda-Tek
The Ryzen 5 7600X3D, one of AMD’s standout budget X3D CPUs from the previous Zen 4 generation, is making its way into more markets. Launched last year alongside the Ryzen 9000 series CPUs, this processor leverages a larger L3 cache to provide competitive performance for gaming, despite being built on a slower architecture compared to its newer counterparts.
Initially, the Ryzen 5 7600X3D was exclusive to a few outlets, such as MicroCenter in the United States and Mindfactory in Germany. It became available in China shortly thereafter, but its launch was limited to just a handful of regions until now. Recently, AMD confirmed that it is distributing this processor to additional retailers, now including the UK as the fourth country to offer it.

Lambda-Tek, a prominent retailer in the UK specializing in PC hardware, has listed the Ryzen 5 7600X3D at a price of £299.57 (including VAT) or £249 without VAT. While the product listing is not yet live with images or stock availability, it’s expected to be added soon. In US dollar terms, this price equates to about $400 including VAT. The processor originally launched in the US for $299, maintaining a comparable price point in China during its debut.

Utilizing a 6-core, 12-thread architecture, the Ryzen 5 7600X3D operates at lower clock speeds compared to its non-X3D version. It has base and boost clock speeds of 4.1 GHz and 4.7 GHz, while the Ryzen 7600X reaches 4.7 GHz and 5.3 GHz, respectively. However, the 7600X3D excels in gaming and specific applications due to the 64 MB additional L3 cache facilitated by 3D V-Cache technology. Additionally, it offers enhanced energy efficiency with a thermal design power (TDP) of 65W, a notable decrease from the 105W of the 7600X model.
As AMD seeks to broaden the reach of this CPU, enthusiasts can anticipate its availability across more retailers very soon. The Ryzen 5 7600X3D is poised to be an attractive option for budget-conscious gamers using the AM5 platform, especially when compared to the pricier 7800X3D, which retails near $400, underscoring the value proposition of the 7600X3D in terms of performance versus price.
