Despite being released months ago, AMD’s RDNA 4 GPUs have yet to make an appearance in the Steam Hardware Survey, prompting speculation about their overall market reception.
GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Achieves 0.21% Share in Steam GPU Survey, Outpacing RX 9070 Series
The recently published Steam Hardware Survey has unveiled some intriguing insights regarding the performance of the latest graphics cards from NVIDIA and AMD. It is essential to note that the Steam Hardware Survey may not fully represent the GPU market, as it relies on voluntary user data collected monthly. Consequently, hardware and software configurations from users who opt-out are not reflected in the results.

The survey results indicate a significant popularity gap, with NVIDIA’s RTX 50 series exhibiting a higher presence than AMD’s Radeon RX 9000 series. Currently, the NVIDIA lineup boasts a wider range of GPUs, including the RTX 5090, RTX 5080, RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5070, RTX 5060 Ti, and RTX 5060. In contrast, AMD has only introduced the Radeon RX 9070 series to date, which features the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT. The forthcoming RX 9060 XT is anticipated to launch soon, but for now, the market data lacks any indication of this model.
Interestingly, even three months following the launch of the RX 9070 series, these GPUs remain absent from the latest survey results. This raises critical questions about the RX 9070’s popularity in comparison to its RTX 50 alternatives. While anecdotal evidence suggests a decent sales performance in various retail outlets, concrete figures are yet to be released.

Although the RX 9070 series likely falls within the 9.32% “Other”category reported in the survey, its actual market share appears to be relatively minimal—potentially below 0.15%, whereas the collective share of the RTX 50 series exceeds nearly 2%.The recently added GeForce RTX 5060 Ti recorded a modest share of 0.21%, reflecting its entry into the market. The emergence of the RTX 5060 is still pending, as it is a newcomer. Notably, the flagship RTX 5090 also remains absent from the survey, which could be attributed to various factors including pricing and availability challenges.
The RX 9070 series has not featured in the previous surveys either, making this its third consecutive absence since its launch. This pattern suggests that drawing definitive conclusions about the popularity of RX 9070 GPUs through this survey may be misleading, as there could be other underlying factors influencing these results.
