AMD Reports 1000 FPS Achievable in Various eSports Games with Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs

According to AMD, gamers can reach an astonishing 1000 FPS in well-known eSports titles by utilizing a premium GPU alongside Ryzen 9000X3D processors.

Achieving 1000 FPS with Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs and Recommended Configurations

While popular games such as Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) and Valorant often achieve impressive frame rates of 600-700 FPS, hitting the 1000 FPS milestone presents a considerable challenge. A high-performance CPU is indispensable for this level of gaming. Notably, tech expert Der8auer demonstrated that a Liquid Nitrogen-cooled Intel Core i9 14900K could reach 1000 FPS in CS2 when paired with an RTX 4090 configuration about two years ago. Thus, a formidable setup is essential, and with the Ryzen 9000X3D processors, attaining unprecedented FPS levels becomes increasingly feasible.

AMD asserts that even though most benchmarks currently show the Ryzen 9800X3D and Ryzen 9950X3D reaching between 600 and 700 FPS paired with RTX 5080 or 5090 GPUs, proper adjustments can enable users to hit the 1000 FPS mark across six distinct eSports games. In a recent marketing infographic, AMD outlined how they achieved these remarkable frame rates in a variety of titles, including CS2, Valorant, League of Legends, PUBG, and Naraka: Bladepoint.

AMD emphasizes that three models from the Ryzen 9000X3D family—namely the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Ryzen 9 9950X3D, and mobile Ryzen 9 9955HX3D—can accomplish the 1000 FPS target when paired with appropriate settings. Utilizing Windows 11 (version 24H2), and disabling VBS (Virtualization-based Security) in conjunction with AMD SAM (Smart Access Memory), testers found that all six titles reached 1000 FPS utilizing GPUs like the GeForce RTX 5080 and GeForce RTX 5090D. Furthermore, memory settings were optimized to 6000 MT/s with CL30 latency, and testing was conducted at 1080p resolution.

Interestingly, when using the Radeon RX 9070 XT, only two games reached the coveted 1000 FPS mark—a noteworthy achievement, yet one that warrants independent verification. Moreover, it’s worth considering the practical implications, as attaining 1000 FPS might not significantly enhance the gaming experience given that gaming monitors with 1000 Hz refresh rates are not yet widely available. Currently, the fastest display announced comes from HKC, which is set to launch the world’s first 750 Hz gaming monitor.

Despite the promising capabilities of the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D, AMD did not provide performance results for this mobile processor. Attaining 1000 FPS on a laptop may not be particularly beneficial, especially since high-refresh-rate display options are limited for portable devices.
