AMD is reportedly set to host a dedicated event for the highly anticipated RX 9070 series GPUs by the end of February, marking a significant milestone for Team Red. This standalone presentation will officially unveil the latest products in their lineup, heightening excitement among technology enthusiasts.
The Launch of AMD’s RDNA 4 GPUs: March Availability and Competition with NVIDIA
AMD’s journey toward launching the RDNA 4 GPUs has experienced its share of delays. Initially, a release date aimed for late January was projected, but this was subsequently revised to March. The shift indicates AMD’s commitment to ensuring they provide robust software support for the new lineup. According to a recent report by Benchlife, the RX 9070 series is expected to be revealed by the end of February, although the precise date remains unconfirmed.
If nothing unexpected happens, AMD will hold a press conference for the Radeon RX 9000 series based on the RDNA 4 GPU architecture at the end of February, but the details are still to be confirmed.

Interestingly, this event will not only focus on the RX 9070 WeUs but will also introduce new X3D CPUs. This strategic timing marks the first instance of AMD coordinating a hardware launch in March. The delay appears to be part of a tactical decision to carefully study NVIDIA’s approaches with their RTX Blackwell WeUs, allowing AMD to formulate an aggressive response.

The Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 will be the two graphics cards showcased, both leveraging the capabilities of the RDNA 4 architecture. These GPUs are anticipated to include up to 16 GB of video memory. The RX 9070 XT is poised to rival NVIDIA’s RTX 4070 Ti, while the RX 9070 will take on the RTX 4070. AMD’s direction appears to center primarily on the mainstream GPU market, suggesting that they might not pursue a direct competitor to the GeForce RTX 5090 at this juncture.
As consumers await this unveiling, early leaks suggest that AMD’s forthcoming releases are set to make a significant impact, particularly benefiting those in the mid-range purchasing bracket. Enthusiasts can expect a compelling presentation showcasing innovative technology and competitive pricing strategies.
