AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Set to Debut in May During Computex, Competing with NVIDIA RTX 5060 Series

Anticipation is building for AMD’s upcoming “mid-range”graphics card, the Radeon RX 9060 XT, which is set to launch by May. This new entry aims to compete head-to-head with NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 series, positioning AMD for a potential lead in the mid-range GPU market.

AMD to Unveil the Radeon RX 9060 XT in May: Aiming for Mid-Range Dominance

Just yesterday, NVIDIA released its GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, available in both 8 GB and 16 GB configurations, boasting attractive MSRP pricing that has intensified competition in the mid-range graphics space. Reports from Chiphell suggest that AMD plans to launch the Radeon RX 9060 XT around the time of Computex in May. While AMD has yet to confirm its launch schedule, it appears likely that they will take advantage of this major event to showcase their latest technology.

Despite the excitement surrounding NVIDIA’s new offering, early responses to the RTX 5060 Ti have been lukewarm, with the card introduced at an MSRP that some believe is too high. Coupled with disappointing inventory levels, Team Green faces mounting pressure. For AMD, this presents a prime opportunity. It will be crucial for the Radeon RX 9060 XT to not only come at a competitive price point but also to ensure adequate supply to meet market demand.

Details surrounding the Radeon RX 9060 XT reveal that it will utilize the Navi 44 die paired with a 128-bit bus interface. Anticipated configurations include both 8GB and 16GB VRAM, aligning closely with its NVIDIA rivals. The WeU is projected to feature 2, 048 streaming processors (SPs), which is half that of the Radeon RX 9070 XT, along with competitive game clocks of 2620 MHz and boost clocks reaching 3230 MHz. When compared to its predecessor, the Radeon RX 7600 XT, the RX 9060 XT is expected to deliver remarkable performance improvements.

Given that the RTX 5060 Ti is priced at $379/$429, AMD may strategically introduce the RX 9060 XT at a lower price to entice budget-conscious consumers. While the exact launch date remains unclear, with Computex on the horizon, AMD enthusiasts should stay tuned for any updates, as the company is known for making rapid shifts in its plans.
