Recent updates from the NBD shipment log indicate that AMD is on the verge of launching its new Ryzen AI Refresh series. This upcoming series includes two distinct models: one featuring a 10-core configuration and the other a 12-core setup.

Earlier this year, AMD hinted at the introduction of its “Ryzen AI Refresh”series during a promotional event. Dubbed the Gorgon Point, this new lineup is expected to be built on the Zen 5 architecture and to offer enhancements compared to the existing Strix Point APUs. The latest shipment logs reveal potential insights into these forthcoming models.

As highlighted by @Olrak29_, the shipment log lists two configurations featuring 12 cores and one with 10 cores, identified by the product IDs “100-000001936-50, ””100-000001859-50, ”and “100-000001861-50.”According to @RubyRapids, these identifiers may correspond to the following APUs:

  1. 100-000001936-50: Ryzen AI 9 HX 475 Pro?
  2. 100-000001859-50: Ryzen AI 9 HX 475
  3. 100-000001861-50: Ryzen AI 9 HX 465

It is important to note that these designations are not yet confirmed by AMD, which has yet to release the official naming conventions for the Gorgon Point series. The skeptics suggest that these models are not part of the Zen 6 Medusa Point series since the shipment log specifies use of the “FP8″socket. Previous leaks have indicated that Medusa Point will employ a larger “FP10″package.

As the Gorgon Point series serves as a refreshed iteration of Strix Point APUs, it will continue utilizing the existing FP8 socket. Specifications indicate that while core and thread configurations will mirror those of Strix Point, the Gorgon Point will showcase enhanced AI capabilities. With potential performance reaching over 55 AI TOPS, this represents an upgrade from the 50 AI NPU TOPS observed in the previous models. The CPU architecture will retain the Zen 5 foundation, while the integrated GPU (iGPU) will also feature the RDNA 3.5 architecture. Additional WeUs are expected to be part of the lineup, likely offering increased core clock speeds.

In contrast to the Strix Point and Kracken Point series, the Gorgon Point lineup will expand to include R9, R7, R5, and R3 models, with some featuring a reduced core count of just four. Meanwhile, the anticipated Zen 6-based Medusa Point will introduce the new FP10 package, signifying its role as the successor to both Strix Point and Gorgon Point chipsets.
