For enthusiasts eagerly anticipating details about AMD’s latest graphics solutions, the company discussed its recently introduced RDNA 4 GPUs alongside the Ryzen 9 9000X3D CPUs. Notably, the RDNA 4 series, which made its retail debut on March 6, features the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070. The GPUs quickly sold out in numerous regions, showcasing robust demand.

AMD informed attendees that it had shipped an impressive over 200, 000 units of the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 GPUs shortly after launch, likely within just a week or two. While exact details were scarce, the figure highlights the overwhelming response to these graphics cards.

Currently, availability of these GPUs is limited, although expectations suggest improvements in stock levels within the coming weeks. However, it is worth noting that board partners (AIBs) have raised prices on custom editions significantly, with the RX 9070 XT current retailing for over $200 more than its official MSRP. While AMD has expressed its intention to support MSRP pricing, it does not have direct control over how AIBs and retailers set their prices.

Meanwhile, NVIDIA has also reported that its RTX 50 series GPUs have seen double the shipment figures within the first five weeks compared to its previous RTX 40 series. However, the lack of specific numbers prevents any meaningful comparison with AMD’s shipment data.

In the coming weeks, we anticipate improved product availability; however, the trend of price increases from both AMD and NVIDIA partners has continued. For instance, Acer recently launched its RX 9070 series lineup, with the Nitro RX 9070 XT OC edition priced at $829, while ASUS has elevated the prices of the RTX 50 and RX 9070 series GPUs to more than 1.5 times above their initial suggested retail prices for select editions.
