AMD has experienced remarkable growth in GPU market share, achieving nearly a 15% increase compared to last year. This marks the highest market share for AMD in the past 12 months.
Intel Achieves Historic GPU Milestone While AMD’s Growth Soars Amid NVIDIA’s Struggles
In a stunning turn of events, sales of the AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT have surged tenfold within the Korean DIY market as we approach 2025. Notably, the market share for this model climbed from just over 1% in February 2024 to an impressive 10.26% by January 2025. Furthermore, the RX 7600 has reported an astonishing share of 35.16% among AMD Radeon GPUs.

These developments signal just the beginning of what 2025 has in store, largely attributed to NVIDIA’s struggles rather than the advantages of AMD’s GPUs. The market visibility of NVIDIA’s RTX series has significantly diminished, impacting availability not only in Korea but globally.
A quick glance at major e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Newegg, and Best Buy reveals the scarcity of RTX 40 and 50 series GPUs, especially the high-end models. In contrast, AMD continues to maintain a robust supply of both RX 7000 and RX 6000 series graphics cards.

In the Korean DIY market, AMD’s share has reached a notable 14.65% as of January 2025, a significant leap from 7.69% in February 2024. It’s worth noting the upward trajectory, with AMD climbing to 20.8% share by the first week of February this year, according to Danawa Research, marking a record high for their data collection period.

This year has also shown positive growth for both AMD and Intel in the GPU sector, with the combined share reaching 1.2%.While this figure may appear modest, it reflects a significant increase from Intel’s initial 0.09% share at the beginning of 2024. Meanwhile, NVIDIA’s dominance has waned, with their market share dropping from over 90% to a current 84.16%.
The sustainability of this trend remains uncertain, especially as NVIDIA aims to fulfill consumer demand for its anticipated RTX 50 series GPUs.
