AMD 25.6.3 Driver Update Adds FSR 4 Support for GTA V and Monster Hunter Wilds

Latest AMD Driver Update Enhances FSR 4 Support

In June, AMD’s driver development team has been particularly productive, releasing its third graphics driver update of the month. This important release focuses on boosting support for FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) upscaling technology, along with a collection of bug fixes aimed at improving the user experience.

New FSR 4 Features for Popular Titles

The AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 25.6.3 optional driver adds FSR 4 compatibility to Monster Hunter: Wilds, an action RPG developed by Capcom that debuted earlier this year. Users with RX 9000 series GPUs can expect enhanced frame rates while maintaining high graphics quality, addressing performance issues that have been noted by many players.

Additionally, the updated driver introduces FSR 4 support for Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced. This advanced version of the popular game offers ray tracing and more, enhancing the visual experience for players on the PC platform. With this driver, users can improve their gameplay performance significantly.

Resolved Issues and Improvements

The latest driver update addresses a significant problem where FSR 4 failed to enable correctly in multiple titles. Affected games include:

  • DragonKin: The Banished
  • Blades of Fire
  • RoadCraft
  • The Alters
  • Star Wars Outlaws
  • S. T.A. L.K. E.R.2: Heart of Chornobyl

In addition, noteworthy crash issues on the RX 7650 GRE GPU for Black Myth: WuKong, as well as texture corruption in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on the RX 9070 XT, have been effectively resolved in this new driver release.

Outstanding Issues Still Being Addressed

Despite these improvements, there remain several known issues that AMD is actively working to resolve:

  • Potential stuttering during gameplay with some VR headsets set at 80Hz or 90Hz refresh rates on certain AMD Radeon™ graphics products, particularly the Radeon™ RX 7000 series. A temporary workaround is to adjust the refresh rate.
  • Intermittent crashes in Cyberpunk 2077 on select Radeon™ graphics products.
  • Application crashes or driver timeouts may occur while playing Monster Hunter Wilds with Radeon™ Anti-Lag and Instant Replay enabled.
  • Performance issues and stuttering reported on the Call of Duty: Warzone Season 03 ‘Verdansk’ map.
  • Lower-than-expected performance while watching 4K resolution YouTube videos in Chrome; users can mitigate this by switching to fullscreen mode.
