AMD 24.10.1 WHQL Driver Enhances Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Performance and Additional Features
Today, AMD has introduced a fresh Windows WHQL Adrenalin graphics driver (Driver Version 24.20.11.01 and Windows Driver Store Version 32.0.12019.1028). The newly released version 24.10.1 includes support for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Unknown 9: Awakening.
In addition to the new game support, this driver update addresses various issues and broadens the HYPR-Tune support for an additional three games.
Below is a detailed changelog for this release:
Highlights
New Game Support
- Unknown 9: Awakening
- Call of Duty®: Black Ops 6
Expanded HYPR-Tune Support
HYPR-Tune integration allows HYPR-RX to activate various in-game technologies, including AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution and AMD Radeon™ Anti-Lag 2.
Support has now been added for automatic configuration of AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution with frame generation in:
- Call of Duty®: Black Ops
- 7 Days to Die
- Once Human
Fixes and Enhancements
Resolved intermittent performance lags when accessing specific areas in DayZ.
Fixed random crashes of the system or applications when altering resolution settings in Doom Eternal while the AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition™ Metrics Overlay is active.
Known Issues
Players may experience occasional driver timeouts or crashes while playing Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 on certain AMD graphics cards, such as the AMD Ryzen™ AI 9 HX 370. A temporary workaround involves enabling Variable Graphics Memory in AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition (AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition -> Performance -> Tuning -> Variable Graphics Memory).
Launching SteamVR using Valve Index® at 144Hz on Radeon™ RX 6000 series may lead to system crashes.
After utilizing the AMD Cleanup Utility for Windows®, users might see the AMD Bug Report Tool appearing sporadically during the installation of a new driver on AMD Ryzen™ 7000 and newer series processors in conjunction with AMD graphics products.
Some users may notice application freezes when loading a save in Monster Hunter: World.
Additionally, AMD has released a beta driver yesterday, version 24.10.30.02, which introduces support for Mesh Nodes. The company notes that initial Mesh Node functionality was previewed in version 24.9.1.
The changelog for the beta driver is outlined here:
Highlights
- Support for Mesh Nodes in Vulkan® GPU Work Graphs
- Updated VK_AMDX_shader_enqueue extension.
- Addition of Mesh Node capabilities for Vulkan GPU Work Graphs. Shaders can now be developed in HLSL using the specific node syntax and converted to SPIR-V. This feature requires a Radeon™ RX 7000 series graphics card.
AMD has not explicitly confirmed whether the latest WHQL driver, Adrenalin edition version 24.10.1, includes support for Mesh Nodes. However, it is commonly understood that graphic drivers are cumulative. If it is not included in this release, it is expected to be available in a future update shortly.
