In his first remarks since Sean “Diddy” Combs’ arrest, Mike Tyson expressed his support for the hip-hop mogul. Diddy was taken into custody without the possibility of bail on September 16 while facing serious charges, including s*x trafficking. Additionally, the date for his trial has been set for May 5, 2025.
On Friday, September 11, the Daily Mail published an exclusive interview with Tyson, who offered his friend Diddy heartfelt wishes. When questioned about the association between himself and the renowned rapper, Tyson humorously responded:
“Wait, I’m synonymous with Diddy? Well, that’s cool. I never knew that.”
When asked if he had a message for Combs, Tyson said:
“I wish him the best. In life, I wish him the best.”
The Bond Between Diddy and Mike Tyson
Tyson is among several celebrities who have maintained a connection with Diddy over the years. They have been photographed together at various parties, though it’s uncertain whether Tyson participated in any of Diddy’s notorious “Freak Off” events.
The pair was seen in good spirits in 1998, right before one of Tyson’s boxing matches. In an interview last year on the PBD Podcast, Tyson reflected on their long-standing friendship, stating:
“I just know him for a long time. I knew him before he was Diddy and for a long time. When I first became champ I knew him.”
Tyson even playfully referred to him as “Sugar Diddy” in the past year.

While reminiscing about their past experiences, Tyson told Patrick Bet-David about Diddy’s affinity for hosting after parties, saying:
“I remember he used to have crates when he’s at my after parties and stuff.”
As Diddy awaits his May 5, 2025, trial, he faces serious allegations including s*x trafficking, pr*stitution, and engaging in a racketeering conspiracy. He has been denied bail three times. Before his arrest, Combs was hit with a dozen civil lawsuits accusing him of physical assault, gang r*pe, drugging victims, and more. Among those accusing him are Cassie Ventura, Joi Dickerson-Neal, Liza Gardner, and several others.
Attorney Tony Buzbee of Houston has also stepped forward, claiming representation for 120 alleged victims who suffered s*xual and physical abuse at the hands of Diddy. This group includes 60 males and 60 females, with reports indicating that minors, as young as 15 years old, are among those involved.
Diddy currently faces incarceration at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York. His legal team has requested bail numerous times, arguing the facility’s deplorable conditions, but a federal judge deemed him a “serious flight risk.”
If convicted, Diddy could face life imprisonment for the racketeering charge, while the s*x trafficking charge carries a potential maximum sentence of 15 years.
Despite the numerous accusations against him, Diddy has consistently proclaimed his innocence.
