“All of Brazil is gonna have a smile” – Ian Garry promises Colby Covington will retire after drowning “in a puddle of his own blood” during clash

Ian Garry recently shared his thoughts on a potential fight against Colby Covington and confidently predicted the outcome of the match.

‘The Future’ and ‘Chaos’ have been engaging in a back-and-forth banter on social media, using produced videos and interviews. Both welterweight contenders seem eager for this fight, but the official announcement from the promotion is still pending.

During an interview with MMA Fighting, Garry once again called out Covington and stated that he intends to make Brazil, a country that Covington notoriously insulted, proud of his actions against him. He confidently declared that he will forcibly end Covington’s career and do so in a brutal manner. He stated:

“I’ve said my bit, you [Colby Covington] don’t deserve to be here [in the UFC], you don’t deserve to be at the top of the division anymore. I’m gonna retire you and all of Brazil is gonna have a smile on their face when I knock you unconscious and leave you in a puddle of your own blood face down on the canvas. Colby, you’re done.”

It will be intriguing to observe if Covington will react to Garry’s most recent pledge concerning their match, as he has consistently insisted that the Irishman must fulfill his three conditions before he will agree to face him in the octagon.

Ian Garry discusses his experience training in Brazil

Ever since his rise in the rankings, welterweight prospect Ian Garry has been highly praised and he recently revealed his reasoning behind choosing to train in Brazil.

‘The Future’ has an impeccable 14-0 MMA record and has gained recognition for his striking abilities. In the aforementioned interview, Ian Garry revealed that his training in Brazil alongside other elite fighters has enhanced his Jiu Jitsu skills and transformed him into a well-rounded fighter. He stated:

“For me to be free with my striking and my legs and my combinations…I need to match that elite level Jiu Jitsu. Because, if someone wants to have success against me, they’re gonna wanna take me down. That’s why I came to Brazil. I wanted to train with Demian [Maia], I wanted to train with Charles Oliveira and the energy of Chute Box, and I love and adore everything Dhiego Lima has created at Chute Box.”[6:56 – 7:23]
