Alan Wake 2 – The Lake House story expansion launches in October with a creepy trailer
Alan Wake 2, the survival horror and action game developed by Remedy Entertainment, launched to enthusiastic fans in October 2023. The critically acclaimed title received its first expansion, Night Springs, in June of this year, with an announcement for a second and final expansion set to release later this year. During the recent PlayStation State of Play showcase, the studio unveiled a chilling new trailer for Alan Wake 2 – Lake House, which can be viewed above.
This exciting new narrative will delve deeper into the shared universe of Alan Wake and Control, taking players on a journey to Cauldron Lake. Here, players will confront the Federal Bureau of Control’s research station known as the Lake House, grappling with the horrors that have unfolded in the wake of a catastrophic event.
Here’s how the studio has laid the groundwork for this upcoming expansion:
“Enter the Lake House, where monsters wear many faces, and survival is just the beginning. Dive into a harrowing survival horror experience with the latest expansion for Alan Wake 2, set in an eerie new location on the shores of Cauldron Lake. Within the Federal Bureau of Control’s research station, the Lake House, a catastrophic event has occurred, where reckless experiments have caused reality to collide with the Dark Place.”
While the initial expansion focused on multiple protagonists, this chapter will center on a singular character: Agent Kiran Estevez from the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), played by Janina Gavankar. Fans may recall her as she also appears in Alan Wake 2 as an NPC, serving as an FBC field agent stationed in Bright Falls.
Notably, this expansion will unfold concurrently with the events of the base game, potentially intertwining with the journeys of main protagonists Alan Wake and Saga Anderson. Remedy assures that The Lake House will deliver a fully immersive survival horror experience.
Published by Epic Games, the Alan Wake 2 – Lake House expansion is set to be released this October for players who own the Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition, which includes the expansion pass granting access to Night Springs as well. The game is accessible on PC via the Epic Games Store, as well as on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
