Al B. Sure Calls for Investigation into Kim Porter’s Death Amid Diddy’s Arrest, Suspecting Involvement of Her Publicists
American singer-songwriter Al B. Sure has called for an investigation into the death of Kim Porter, shortly after Sean “Diddy”Combs was arrested. In a series of posts on Instagram, the artist shared his thoughts regarding the circumstances surrounding Porter’s passing.
Al B. Sure revealed that he had been in contact with several law enforcement agencies over time to seek updates on his late former wife Kim Porter’s death. In one of his posts, he stated:
“I am writing this post to formally request an investigation into an entire group of individuals who worked at or around the residence of Ms. Kimberly Porter including the publicists who assisted drafting this.”
He further added:
“It has come to my attention that these persons were also instructed to steal her computer and mobile devices, which contained her ‘original book notes.’”
The term “book notes”referred to documents meant for Porter’s controversial memoir.
For context, Kim Porter, who had an on-again-off-again relationship with Diddy, was married to Al B. Sure from 1989 to 1990. During their short marriage, they welcomed son Quincy Brown, who would later be adopted by Diddy.
Connection Between Diddy, Kim Porter, and Cassie Ventura
While Al B. Sure did not directly mention Diddy’s name, he referenced the mogul’s ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura. As noted, the singer-songwriter urged law enforcement to investigate the circumstances surrounding Kim Porter’s death, hinting at a connection to the settlement reached between Cassie Ventura and Diddy last year.
In one of his posts, Sure wrote:
“Kimberly was allegedly taken from us because she was set on course to accomplish what Mrs. Cassie Ventura did by igniting the Bon Fire [sic] which brings us here today.”
Just a day after Cassie filed a lawsuit against Combs, they reached an undisclosed settlement, which followed accusations of physical and emotional abuse, including rape. In May of this year, footage surfaced that allegedly showed Diddy physically assaulting Cassie.
Al B. Sure also shared excerpts from Porter’s memoir, which has drawn controversy and was published by producer Chris Todd. On September 24, 2024, Combs’ lawyer, Erica Wolf, spoke to Billboard claiming the memoir was “fake.”Wolf stated:
“The Kim Porter ‘memoir’ is fake. It is also offensive – a shameless attempt to profit from tragedy. Chris Todd has no respect for Ms. Porter or her family, who deserve better…”
A Rolling Stone article dated September 24 mentioned that Todd had admitted he could not guarantee the authenticity of the memoir’s content.
Kim Porter was found deceased in 2018 at her home in Toluca Lake, California, where she was reportedly suffering from “flu-like symptoms.”Initially, the coroner deferred the cause of death; it was later determined to be due to lobar pneumonia.
