Akihiro Hino Takes Over as Producer from Keiji Inafune for Fantasy Life i

Major Updates on Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time

Akihiro Hino, the CEO and Founder of Level-5, recently provided insights regarding the company’s anticipated title, *Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time*.A notable change in production leadership was confirmed: Keiji Inafune will no longer be involved with the project. As a result, Hino has stepped in to take over the role of producer. This shift has been indicated as a contributing factor to the numerous delays the JRPG and life simulation game has faced.

Keiji Inafune’s Departure and Its Impact

Inafune joined Level-5 in June 2017 following the acquisition of his studio, which was subsequently rebranded as Level-5 Comcept. During his tenure, he was involved with projects such as *Dragon & Colonies*, which was ultimately closed in February 2020. Additional projects led by Inafune, like *Red Ash: The Indelible Legend*, were hindered by unsuccessful crowdfunding efforts, leading to further complications.

Game Development Timeline

Initially announced in February 2023, *Fantasy Life i* had Inafune cited as producer at that point. The game was expected to release in Summer 2024 but faced multiple deadline shifts, now aiming for a launch on May 21, 2025. Notably, it was first postponed from its expected October 2024 release date and subsequently from April 2025.

Current Progress and Expectations

Hino has expressed optimism about the project’s progress, stating, “All game data has been completed, and we are currently making the final balance adjustments.” The delays have allowed the development team to enhance the user interface and incorporate features such as cross-play and cross-save capabilities, promising an elevated gaming experience.

Platform Availability

*Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time* is set to be released on multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. Fans eagerly await this large entry in the series, which promises to bring exciting new features and experiences.
