“Ain’t Going No Mthfkn Where” — Nicki Minaj Reconsiders Hiatus Plans After Concluding Pink Friday 2 Tour

On October 13, a tweet from the account @nmcaviar surfaced on X, formerly Twitter, regarding the acclaimed rapper Nicki Minaj. This tweet indicated that Nicki was contemplating a break from her music career after completing a few upcoming projects. The post stated:

“Nicki Minaj announces she’s going on a hiatus.”

Interestingly, this tweet gained traction after Nicki reportedly discussed her plans on Stationhead. She mentioned:

“I am doing a hiatus. But I have the Vogue thing, which I’m very proud and honored to do, and a couple things and then I’ll be taking a little moment to reflect..”

On October 11, after concluding her Pink Friday 2 World Tour with a final performance at UBS Arena, she hinted at the possibility of a break, as reported by AllHipHop.

However, it seems that Nicki has reconsidered her earlier stance. Following the viral tweet from @nmcaviar, she clarified her position, stating that she wasn’t going on a break. On October 14, Nicki tweeted:

“Ain’t going no mthfkn where. Kiss my a** & HIATUS. 😩🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.”

Nicki Minaj’s Previous Hiatus History

This is not the first instance where Nicki has alluded to taking time off from her musical endeavors. Although she denied any break now, she has indeed stepped back from the industry previously.

After the release of her fourth studio album, Queen, in 2018, Nicki opted for a hiatus. During this time, while she issued a few standalone singles, she did not release a full album.

She made a spectacular return with her fifth album Pink Friday 2, which launched in December 2023.

Fans warmly welcomed her back after an absence of nearly five years. In 2019, Nicki announced via social media that she intended to retire from music in order to focus more on her family.

In a now-deleted tweet from September 2019, as reported by The Guardian, Nicki shared:

“I’ve decided to retire & have my family. I know you guys are happy now. To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me, ❌ in the box- cuz ain’t nobody checkin me. ✅ Love you for LIFE 😘♥️🦄.”

At that moment, it was unclear whether her plan was a temporary break or a definitive retirement. However, given her sustained influence and activity in the music scene today, it appears her hiatus was not meant to be permanent.

In terms of recent developments, the Trinidadian rapper recently completed her fifth concert tour on Friday.

She also expressed her appreciation to her fans and everyone who attended her shows, making the tour a resounding success.
