While the prospects of a second season for Agatha All Along appear bleak, characters Agatha Harkness and Billy Maximoff remain relevant in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).There are strong indications that their storylines could continue in the highly anticipated upcoming series centered around Vision. The collaboration between Kathryn Hahn, who portrays Agatha Harkness, and newcomer Joe Locke as “Teen”showcased the characters forming a coven, setting the stage for deeper explorations of the mysticism within Marvel’s storytelling.
Released during the Halloween season of 2024, Agatha All Along quickly gained traction, becoming one of Disney+’s standout offerings within the MCU. Although there are rumors of a potential reunion for a second season, recent statements from cast member Patti LuPone have cast doubt on the future of both Agatha Harkness and Billy Maximoff. Given their ties to other key characters in the MCU, however, it is very likely that their journeys are far from over, with the upcoming Vision series providing a promising backdrop for their return.

Lilia Calderu’s Role in Agatha All Along

Jac Schaeffer, the series creator, came into my trailer and she said, ‘Patti, I’m just here to tell you that Lilia’s going to die, ’ and I replied, ‘But I wanted a second season…’ [Schaeffer] mentioned, ‘I don’t do second seasons.’ She went on to explain that, while there was interest in a second season of WandaVision, her focus remains on standalone stories. I hope to collaborate with her again someday because she has such talent.

The Vision Series Scheduled for 2026

Patti LuPone’s remarks have suggested that the prospect of a second season for Agatha All Along is unlikely, regardless of fan demand. This leaves the show’s unresolved cliffhanger—where Agatha Harkness, in her spectral form, departs Westview with Billy Maximoff on a quest to find his reincarnated brother Tommy—without closure. Nonetheless, it is anticipated that their next appearances will align with Marvel Studios’ itinerary for the Vision series set to premiere in 2026, positioned as a continuation of the WandaVision saga.
Excitement for the Vision series has surged following the hiring of Terry Matalas, known for his work on 12 Monkeys and Star Trek: Picard, as showrunner as of May 2024. This upcoming series is poised to reconnect with Paul Bettany’s portrayal of White Vision, a character who has not been featured since the conclusion of WandaVision. Additionally, it is expected to seamlessly intertwine with the established narrative threads from both WandaVision and Agatha All Along. Should Agatha Harkness and Billy Maximoff return, it could pave the way for significant family reunions and the restoration of Vision’s lost memories, setting the stage for the next phase of his journey within the MCU.
