Recent sightings of Intel’s Panther Lake-H CPUs have emerged, this time integrated into ADLINK’s innovative industrial motherboard. These processors boast an impressive configuration, featuring up to 16 cores alongside a 65W thermal design power (TDP).
ADLINK’s VNX+ Motherboard: Key Features
The Panther Lake-H microarchitecture continues to gain traction in the industrial sector. Following a recent announcement from DFI, ADLINK has unveiled its new VNX-PL solution, built on the compact VNX+ standard tailored for server blades. This compact motherboard exemplifies portable performance due to its small form factor and carries an array of advanced features:
- Compliance with VITA 90.x for swift deployment
- Options for Intel H484 or H404 processors (Panther Lake variants)
- Support for dual-channel LPDDR5X-8533 memory, expandable to 32GB
- Onboard storage with a robust 1TB PCIe SSD
- Configurable data plane: PCIe Gen4 x4 or dual 10GBase-KX4
- 1x QMC slot available for expansion (specific WeU option)
- Integrated testing functionalities

CPU Configuration and Specifications
The VNX-PL platform accommodates Intel’s Panther Lake-H CPUs, offering configurations of 4+8+4 or 4+0+4 cores. The former configuration translates to a 16-core variant with 4 Cougar Cove Performance Cores (P-Cores), 8 Darkmont Efficiency Cores (E-Cores), and 4 Low Power Efficiency cores (LP-E).The 8-core model showcases 4 Cougar Cove P-Cores and 4 LP-E Darkmont cores, with a power configuration range from 1W to a maximum of 65W.
Additional specifications include support for dual-channel LPDDR5X-8533 memory, available in either 16GB or 32GB options. Notably, the memory is soldered onto the motherboard, necessitating a precise configuration choice upon purchase since upgrades are not feasible later. Furthermore, the motherboard incorporates a 1TB SSD for efficient storage solutions.
Input/Output Options
An array of input/output options enhances the versatility of the VNX-PL motherboard:
- One 1GBase-KX (i210-IT) control plane
- Configurable PCIe Gen4 x4 or dual 10GBase-KX4
- PCIe Gen5 x8 for expansion
- PCIe Gen4 x2 for peripheral connectivity
- DisplayPort 2.1 interface
- Two USB 3.2 ports (compatible with USB 2.0)
- One QMC expansion slot
The onboard SSD adopts a Gen4 x1 design for optimized performance.

Future Launch and Trends
An early preview of the block diagram for the Panther Lake-H CPUs reveals at least 12 PCIe Gen5 lanes, 7 PCIe Gen4 lanes, and a solitary PCIe Gen2 lane, along with integrated SPI technology featuring TPM 2.0 and BIOS ROM capabilities.
Although ADLINK has presented early images, these were based on earlier Meteor Lake CPUs. It’s noteworthy that the Panther Lake-H CPUs are organized in a four-tile architecture. General expectations point toward a launch in early 2026, following limited Intel Panther Lake availability projected for Q4 2025.
