Although the Pale Garden biome captivates with its unique allure, it currently lacks structures that can be generated within it.
However, the Overworld features a structure that could seamlessly integrate into the eerie new biome—abandoned villages.
Why Abandoned Villages Are Ideal for the New Minecraft Pale Garden Biome
Abandoned Villages Share an Eerie Atmosphere with the Pale Garden
An abandoned village is a unique and rare variant of a regular village devoid of healthy villagers. Notably, even iron golems and cats do not spawn in these structures.
When a chunk loads containing a village, there is a 2% chance that it will transform into an abandoned village. These areas are characterized by crumbling houses and cobwebs, imparting a desolate and spooky vibe.
This same atmosphere resonates in the new Pale Garden biome. Mojang’s announcement and showcase of the Pale Garden indicated that it lacks the usual Overworld mob spawns. Additionally, players will find that the game does not automatically play music upon entering this biome, further emphasizing its haunting ambiance.
Although abandoned villages typically spawn in plains surrounded by vibrant green grass and flowers, their presence in the Pale Garden would significantly heighten the creepiness factor. Moreover, the new wood set introduced in the biome could be utilized to create these abandoned villages, allowing them to blend into their surroundings while enhancing the spooky aesthetic.
Currently, abandoned villages can be found in various Overworld biomes, including deserts, plains, meadows, savannas, and snowy plains. However, Mojang has yet to disclose any new structures intended for the Pale Garden biome.
Utilizing the New Creaking Mob to Develop the Lore Around Abandoned Villages
If Mojang were to incorporate abandoned villages into the Pale Garden biome, the newly introduced mob, Creaking, could play a pivotal role in shaping the story surrounding these desolate areas.
Creaking, which was revealed during Minecraft Live, is a new mob that spawns exclusively in Pale Garden biomes at night. It possesses unique mechanics, including remaining stationary as long as players maintain eye contact, with its health linked to a new block called a creaking heart.
A compelling narrative could be woven, suggesting that villagers once thrived in the forest until the Creaking appeared and led to their demise, leaving their village in abandonment. The lore could extend to indicate that the Pale Garden was initially a lush forest that the Creaking gradually corrupted, transforming it into a desaturated and haunted wasteland.
