UPDATE 11/12/2024: We have updated this page with additional insights regarding Acheron’s kit and included links to our resources for Acheron builds and materials to assist you in character development.
Acheron’s kit in Honkai: Star Rail stands out as one of the most intricate setups available. The Galaxy Ranger’s combination of abilities requires careful consideration and strategic party configuration to maximize effectiveness. Though the learning curve may be steep, the potential rewards from utilizing Acheron effectively are significant, given her formidable capabilities.
This guide on the Honkai Star Rail Acheron kit provides a comprehensive overview of her abilities and highlights the essential Traces to prioritize for optimal performance.
Overview of Acheron’s Kit in Honkai Star Rail
Acheron’s unique kit deviates from typical character builds, as she operates without energy. Instead, her ultimate ability—an incredibly potent attack—requires the accumulation of Slashed Dream stacks through her combat actions against enemies. Although classified as a Nihility character, Acheron resembles a Destruction fighter more closely, inflicting substantial damage on her targets while offering minimal debuff support.
Her kit’s complexity arises from her multifunctional ultimate and the tactical timing needed for execution. To clarify, we’ll delve into the details of her abilities below.
Acheron’s Basic Attack: Trilateral Wiltcross
This basic attack allows Acheron to inflict lightning damage equivalent to 50/110 percent of her attack power on a single enemy target.
Acheron’s Skill: Octobolt Blast
Through Octobolt Blast, Acheron delivers lightning damage, dealing 80/160 percent of her attack to the primary target and an additional 30/60 percent to adjacent foes. Executing this skill also grants Acheron a stack of Slashed Dream and applies a Crimson Knot to the primary enemy.
Acheron’s Ultimate: Slashed Dream Cries in Red
The ultimate ability becomes available after Acheron achieves nine Slashed Dream stacks. This powerful attack consists of three Rainblade strikes followed by a Stygian Resurge slash.
Each Rainblade strike deals lightning damage equal to 14/24 percent of Acheron’s attack to a single foe and removes up to three stacks of Crimson Knot on that target. The damage reflection for each Crimson Knot removed is an additional nine percent of Acheron’s attack to all enemies, and this damage can scale up to a maximum of 36/60 percent based on the number of stacks removed.
The ultimate concludes with Stygian Resurge, which inflicts lightning damage equal to 72/120 percent of Acheron’s attack across all enemies and eliminates all Crimson Knots in play. To maximize the efficacy of this ultimate, ensuring that enemies have Crimson Knots is essential; additionally, Ruan Mei’s All Type Resistance Penetration can further enhance damage.
Acheron’s Talent: Atop Rainleaf Hangs Oneness
Upon activating Acheron’s ultimate, all enemies experience a 10/20 percent reduction in All Type Resistance Penetration, persisting until the ultimate’s duration concludes. Notably, Acheron’s ultimate reduces enemy toughness regardless of their vulnerability type. The key element lies in the fact that when any ally inflicts debuffs, Acheron gains one Slashed Dream and inflicts one Crimson Knot on the affected foes, with this effect occurring once per debuff application excluding damage-over-time effects.
Acheron’s Technique: Quadrivalent Ascendance
At the onset of battle, Acheron executes an attack on her enemy, subsequently earning one stack of Quadrivalent Ascendance. This stack translates to lightning damage equal to 200 percent of Acheron’s attack across all foes while concurrently decreasing enemy toughness irrespective of their weakness type. Additionally, after Acheron deploys her ultimate, the technique applies one Crimson Knot to a random foe.
Importantly, Acheron’s technique can instantly eliminate non-boss, non-elite enemies upon activation.
Understanding Acheron’s Traces
The benefits derived from Acheron’s bonus Traces significantly enhance her damage multipliers in Honkai Star Rail, making it advantageous to unlock them promptly.
- Red Oni (Ascension Rank 2): Grants Acheron five Slashed Dream stacks and applies five Crimson Knots to a random enemy when battle initiates. If nine stacks of Slashed Dream are accumulated but not utilized, Acheron gains one Quadrivalent Ascendance stack upon accumulating another Slashed Dream.
- The Abyss (Ascension Rank 4): Increases Acheron’s basic attack, skill, and ultimate damage by 115/160 percent when one or two additional Nihility characters are present on her team, respectively.
- Thunder Core (Ascension Rank 6): Enhances Acheron’s Rainblade strikes by 30 percent when targeting an enemy with a Crimson Knot. Furthermore, Stygian Resurge can deal additional damage against random foes, totaling six instances, each reflecting 25 percent of Acheron’s attack, qualifying as ultimate damage.
Prioritizing Acheron’s Traces
Focusing on Acheron’s ultimate is vital, as it serves as the primary source of her damage output in Honkai Star Rail. Deciding the second most critical Trace depends on your desired outcomes from Acheron’s abilities.
Enhancing her talent raises the ultimate’s resistance penetration, thus improving its damage potential. However, investing some resources into her skill is also recommended, as it helps stack Slashed Dream and provides decent damage scaling despite not being phenomenal.
In summary, prioritize as follows:
- Ultimate
- Talent or Skill (or both)
- Basic Attack
