Acer enters the competitive space of high-end gaming monitors with its latest offerings, the Predator X32 X2 and X27U X1, featuring cutting-edge QD-OLED technology. This move signifies Acer’s commitment to enriching its gaming display portfolio and keeping pace with leading brands like MSI and ASUS.
Acer’s New Predator Gaming Monitors: The X32 X2 and X27U X1
Until recently, Acer’s lineup was missing true QD-OLED gaming monitors, primarily offering only an ultrawide option with limited refresh rates. With the launch of these two new QD-OLED models, Acer aims to capture the attention of gaming enthusiasts seeking high-performance displays.
These models leverage Quantum Dot OLED panels, which enhance OLED technology by providing brighter visuals and improved color accuracy. This trend is increasingly adopted by major players in the monitor market, including ASUS and MSI. Both the Predator X32 X2 and Predator X27U X1 share many similarities, differing mainly in their resolution and display size.
Industry insights suggest that Acer likely sourced its QD-OLED panels from Samsung, a leader in the QD-OLED space, which aims to significantly ramp up production this year. Such a partnership positions Acer to deliver quality products that can compete directly with other top-of-the-line gaming monitors.

Specifications and Features
The Predator X32 X2 boasts a robust 31.5-inch display with a stunning 3840×2160 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 240Hz, ideal for gaming enthusiasts looking for uncompromised clarity and performance. In contrast, the Predator X27U X1 features a slightly smaller 26.5-inch screen with a 1440p resolution but retains the same impressive 240Hz refresh rate. However, it is important to note that competitors, such as ASUS and MSI, have managed to achieve refresh rates as high as 500Hz in their latest QHD QD-OLED models.
The core specifications are highly comparable, including an ultra-fast response time of just 0.03ms GtG. Additionally, these monitors support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro technology, which enhances gaming by eliminating screen tearing for a smoother experience. Both models also exhibit consistent performance metrics with 250 Nits brightness, a stellar contrast ratio of 1M:1, and true 10-bit color representation.
Minor distinctions exist between the two models. The Predator X27U X1 is equipped with more powerful 5W speakers compared to the 2W speakers found in the Predator X32 X2. However, the latter compensates with a superior height adjustment capability, reaching up to 150mm versus the 120mm maximum of the 27-inch variant. These innovations demonstrate Acer’s commitment to delivering modern connectivity features and exceptional gaming technologies tailored for immersive gaming experiences.
Pricing and Availability
The Predator X27U X1 is now available for purchase in North America at a price point of $599.99, with availability in the EMEA region set for June at 699 Euros, in the UK in April at £699, and in China in March at 3, 999 Yuan. Conversely, the Predator X32 X2 is expected to hit the North American market in June at $999.99, followed by a launch in EMEA in August at €1, 199, the UK at £999, and in China during Q2 at 5, 999 Yuan.
These launches reflect Acer’s strategic efforts to engage with gamers and provide advanced monitor technologies that cater to the needs of both casual and competitive players.
