Acer has officially introduced its new Nitro Blaze series, featuring the Nitro Blaze 11 and Nitro Blaze 8 gaming handhelds. Both devices are powered by AMD’s Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, paired with Radeon 780M integrated graphics for an enhanced gaming experience.

Features of the Nitro Blaze 11 and 8: Enhanced Visuals and Better Performance

The latest Nitro Blaze handhelds boast larger screens that surpass those of the Nitro Blaze 7. The Nitro Blaze 11 and Nitro Blaze 8 maintain the powerful Ryzen 7 8840HS processor, but they come with several upgraded features and configurations.

Equipped with AMD Ryzen 8040 Series processors, these handhelds achieve impressive gameplay fluidity, featuring up to 39 total AI TOPS, alongside storage options reaching up to 2 TB and 16 GB of LPDDR5x memory.
Both models offer stunning display options, with WQXGA touch screens available in 8.8-inch or 10.95-inch sizes, 144 Hz refresh rates, and enhanced visuals thanks to AMD Radeon 780M graphics and FidelityFX technology.
The Acer Game Space app allows users to access a wide array of popular gaming platforms and applications on their Windows 11 systems.
Additionally, the Nitro Mobile Gaming Controller features a customizable, portable design that offers adjustable grips for various device sizes and supports 18W fast charging for convenience.

The Nitro Blaze 11 stands out as Acer’s largest handheld gaming device, featuring an impressive 11-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600. It supports refresh rates up to 120 Hz and achieves a brightness level of up to 500 nits. Additionally, this model covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, allowing for vibrant and lifelike visuals.

In contrast, the Nitro Blaze 8 features a slightly smaller 8.8-inch display while maintaining the same 2560 x 1600 resolution and achieving a higher refresh rate of 144 Hz. This model is designed to be lighter and more portable, unlike its larger counterpart, which offers detachable controllers for added flexibility during gameplay.

Performance Specs and Connectivity

With the state-of-the-art Ryzen 7 8840HS and Radeon 780M graphics, both handhelds promise captivating gaming adventures. Although they offer higher resolutions, users may notice a dip in performance compared to the Nitro Blaze 7. Each device is enhanced with 16 GB LPDDR5X SDRAM clocked at 7500 MTs and can accommodate up to 2 TB of M.2 PCI-E Gen 4 SSD.

In terms of control, the Nitro Blaze series features additional macro buttons versus its predecessor, along with improved audio quality delivered through dual 2W speakers. Notably, the battery life has been increased from 50W to 55W, allowing for extended gaming sessions. Size-wise, the Nitro Blaze 8 has a more substantial physical presence than the Blaze 7, measuring 30.5 x 13.4 x 2.2 cm and weighing in at 720 g. Meanwhile, the Nitro Blaze 11, larger and heavier still, measures 36.4 x 17.1 x 1.59 cm and weighs 1050 g.

Pricing for these devices starts at $899 for the Nitro Blaze 8 (GN782U) and $1099 for the Nitro Blaze 11 (GN7112U). In the European market, they start at €999 and €1199 respectively. Both models are set to launch in Q2 of the year in North America and EMEA regions.
