Minecraft’s upcoming Winter Drop update is set to introduce an exciting new material: resin bricks. Following the Bundles of Bravery update, which brought Hardcore mode to Bedrock Edition, this update will launch for both Java and Bedrock editions of the game. Players can look forward to a host of features, including the addition of a new mob called the Creaking and a variety of captivating building blocks.
This guide aims to provide you with essential information on how to create resin bricks in Minecraft, alongside tips on utilizing them effectively in your builds.
How to Craft Resin Bricks in Minecraft
To craft resin bricks, you first need to acquire resin clumps, a new item introduced in the Winter Drop update. These can be collected by interacting with a naturally spawned Creaking mob. When you engage with this mob, it causes nearby Creaking Hearts to produce resin clumps on adjacent pale oak wood blocks. Simply punch the block to collect the resin clumps.
Once you have gathered enough resin clumps, place them in a furnace along with a fuel source to initiate the smelting process. In just a few moments, your resin bricks will be ready for use.
Locations to Discover Resin Bricks
In addition to crafting, resin bricks can sometimes be found in woodland mansions. Chests within these structures have a 44.5% chance of containing one or two resin bricks, though this drops to only 16.1% in the Bedrock Edition. Given that woodland mansions are among the rarest structures in the game, relying solely on them for resin bricks may not be the best strategy.
However, if you do come across a woodland mansion, it’s worth your time to explore it fully, as these locations often contain valuable treasures such as Totems of Undying, vex armor trims, music discs, and more.
Utilizing Resin Bricks in Your Builds
The primary use for resin bricks is in crafting resin brick blocks. You can create a resin brick block by combining four resin bricks. This is currently the only crafting recipe associated with resin bricks.
After crafting resin brick blocks, players can further manipulate them into various building components like slabs, stairs, and walls by utilizing either a crafting table or a stonecutter. Additionally, the stonecutter allows you to create a chiseled variant of the resin brick block.
Aesthetic Appeal of Resin Brick Blocks
With each new addition to Minecraft’s block family, players eagerly assess their aesthetics to see how they fit into various building projects. The resin blocks showcased above exhibit a bright orange appearance reminiscent of lava. This distinctive look makes resin bricks an attractive choice for builds located in the Nether or in close proximity to lava.
By employing a bit of creativity, you can integrate resin bricks in innovative ways, enhancing both the beauty and functionality of your structures.
