A Complete Guide to Teleporting Pets in Minecraft

A Complete Guide to Teleporting Pets in Minecraft

Minecraft is a vast game, allowing players to travel thousands of blocks in any direction while barely approaching the world’s boundaries. This expansive scale can make it challenging to return to your base, especially if you have pets there, as they cannot traverse long distances to reach you. In such cases, the teleport command becomes an invaluable tool.

Utilizing the teleport command in Minecraft enables you to either appear right next to your pet or summon them to your current location. This process is quick and requires just a few simple actions.

Once you acquire a pet, it’s essential to give it a name; this name will be used in the teleport command. Also, to execute commands in Minecraft, you need to enable cheats. Here’s how to do that:

  • Pause the game to access the pause menu.
  • Select “Open to LAN.”
  • Choose “Allow Cheats: ON.”
  • Return to the game.

While this is a straightforward process, keep in mind that it will disable achievements. Now, let’s explore how to teleport yourself to your pet’s location. The command you will use is:

/tp @s @e[name=Petname]

The /tp initiates the teleport command. The @s indicates that the command is referring to the player, while @e signifies the entity. Inside the brackets, specify your pet’s name, so the game knows which entity to teleport you to.

If you want to teleport your pet to you instead, this can be done with a simple adjustment. Here’s the command for that:

/tp @e[name=PetName] @s

The command structure remains the same; however, this version directs the game to teleport the named pet to the player. Note that if you do not specify a pet’s name, all entities bearing that name will be teleported to your location, including villagers, mobs, and parrots.

Also, if your player name matches the entity’s name (for instance, naming a wolf “wolf”), this will result in all entities with that name being teleported to you.
