Tigerlily Taylor, a participant from 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, has recently found herself at the center of mounting criticism. However, I believe this scrutiny arises from a misunderstanding of her journey. Her decision to marry Adnan Abdelfattah is particularly commendable—she made this choice merely four months after their initial connection on Instagram. Tigerlily expressed unwavering confidence in her love for Adnan, which is truly admirable. I also found her choice to travel to Jordan with her glam squad for her wedding inspiring, showcasing her desire to feel beautiful on such a significant day. Additionally, Tigerlily’s candidness about their 19-year age gap adds an intriguing layer to their relationship.
At 41, Tigerlily is a mother to two children, while Adnan is only 22. Despite the pronounced age difference, their commitment to one another is noteworthy. It appears that Adnan genuinely cares for Tigerlily, although he occasionally displays an overwhelming intensity that he might need to temper. Among the various couples in the latest season of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, their story stands out to me the most. Although they face challenges, like many couples, their dedication to each other seems to surpass that of several other featured pairs.
Why Is Tigerlily Facing Backlash Following the Tell-All?
Tigerlily’s Heated Words for Niles, Matilda, & Vanja
Since their introduction on the show, Tigerlily and Adnan have encountered scrutiny due to the traditional dynamics of their relationship. Adnan has faced accusations of being controlling, which has prompted significant adjustments in Tigerlily’s lifestyle to conform to his Islamic traditions post-marriage.
It was disheartening to observe her altering her wardrobe choices and limiting her interactions with men to satisfy her husband. Even her fellow cast members have noted her compromises, often at the expense of her own personal expression. Nonetheless, Tigerlily rarely expresses dissatisfaction regarding these changes.
Despite receiving acknowledgment from Adnan as a devoted spouse, Tigerlily’s demeanor during the Tell-All episode drew criticism for what some deemed self-righteousness. My admiration for her waned when she insinuated that Niles Valentine’s wife, Matilda Nti, might be in the relationship purely for financial gain. Furthermore, her comparison of Niles to a dog was particularly disheartening, stating he was “a little bit, kind of like a dog. Like a chihuahua.”Defending her seemed increasingly difficult when her social media comments about Vanja Grbic suggested negative views about her masculinity.
Tigerlily Has Valid Grounds for Her Critiques Against Co-Stars
Correcting Misrepresentations: Tigerlily’s Stand Against Vanja

While some may view Tigerlily’s criticisms of her co-stars as excessive, labeling her as a villain is unwarranted.
She was merely defending Adnan, especially as Niles escalated tensions during the Tell-All confrontation. My impression was that Niles approached the situation with hostility, which prompted a strong reaction from Tigerlily. Her remarks about Niles were perhaps more reflective of his behavior than they were intended as mere insults.
Interestingly, she didn’t engage with other cast members such as Faith Tudoc and Loren Allen because they treated her and Adnan with respect. The lack of decorum from Niles and Vanja necessitated her response. Vanja’s portrayal of Tigerlily as a submissive figure seemed overly simplistic; while espousing gender equality, she neglected to acknowledge Tigerlily’s own contentment and agency in her relationship.
Tigerlily’s Empowered Approach: Respect without Submission
A Strong and Capable Woman
Despite her often playful demeanor, Tigerlily is a savvy individual who is far from powerless. As a self-made multimillionaire, it’s improbable that she could easily fall under anyone’s control. Her prior marriage ended precisely because of her ex-husband’s controlling behavior.
I strongly believe that Tigerlily stands by Adnan from a place of authentic affection and respect. Their love may exhibit complexities, but it is inaccurate to frame her as a damsel in distress. Tigerlily skillfully navigates her relationship, allowing Adnan the illusion of authority while maintaining her autonomy.
