Following the loss of vision in his right eye, Chidi experienced significant limitations in his daily activities. On one occasion, he accidentally hit a bench, which resulted in the complete loss of vision in his left eye. Rayne, however, proposed that there was a spiritual explanation for Chidi’s blindness that brought them together, viewing his accident as more than just a “normal occurrence.”
Rayne expressed relief at not feeling self-conscious around Chidi due to his visual impairment. Chidi, on the other hand, expressed concern about Rayne’s belief that his blindness served a greater purpose. In the latest episode, Rayne asked Chidi about the incident that led to his blindness. Chidi shared that an apple fell on his right eye while he was picking them from a tree with his cousin. Although the pain was “excruciating,”he didn’t worry much at the time, as it subsided by evening. Everything seemed normal until a year later when he began to struggle with his vision.
Doctors diagnosed him with glaucoma, which can be triggered by head trauma. The star of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days mentioned uncertainty about whether the apple or something else caused his glaucoma. After losing sight in his right eye, Chidi hit his left eye on a wooden bench during a fall, leading to complete blindness.
However, Rayne suggested that his blindness might have a spiritual aspect.
“When I met Chidi after he told me he was blind, I felt relieved, like, oh my god, I don’t have to be so self-conscious anymore,”Rayne expressed.
She felt that his condition allowed her “to feel closer to him”than anyone else she had ever been with. She firmly believed it was “definitely no coincidence”that Chidi lost his sight in two separate incidents.
“I think something spiritual happened to him that made him lose his sight so that we could come together. It just adds up to the perfect thing,”Rayne confessed.
She reasoned that his blindness was not a “normal occurrence”since many others are “smacked in the face countless times.”Chidi listened in disbelief to his partner’s theories. In a conversation with the cameras, he stated that Rayne’s comments were “bizarre and weird,”feeling insulted by her perspective, which he claimed showed she lived in an “alternate reality.”
