- PlayStation Portal users now have access to eight exciting new games through cloud streaming.
- Among the newly available titles are popular options like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Top Spin 2K25, both streamable with a PS Plus Premium subscription.
- Additional games have been included in PS Plus Extra, but cloud streaming is exclusive to Premium subscribers.
The PlayStation Portal has expanded its game library with the introduction of eight new titles for cloud streaming, thanks to the recent updates in PS Plus Premium. When the handheld device launched in November 2023, it faced criticism for its inability to play games natively, forcing users to stream exclusively from a PlayStation 5. Although the Portal will continue to lack native gameplay capabilities, a recent system update has significantly improved its functionality by allowing cloud streaming directly from PS Plus Premium.
In November 2024, Sony initiated a pivotal firmware update for the PlayStation Portal, incorporating cloud streaming capabilities. This update opened the door for users without a PlayStation 5 to utilize the Portal. However, access to these streaming features is contingent upon a subscription to PS Plus Premium, which is the highest tier and provides access to a curated selection of gaming titles. Fortunately, a new lineup of games has just been made available, presenting fresh opportunities for Portal users.
On February 18, Sony unveiled nine new games for PS Plus Extra and Premium memberships. Out of these nine additions, eight are available for cloud streaming via the Premium tier. Among the standout titles are Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Top Spin 2K25, and Mordhau. The new lineup also includes classic favorites like Patapon 3 and Dropship: United Peace Force, along with newer indie sensations such as Tin Hearts, Somerville, and Lost Record: Bloom & Rage Tape 1. While these titles may not be in the streaming library indefinitely, they are currently accessible to play on the Portal.

Notably, many of these games, such as Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, are also available on PlayStation 4 and 5 through the PS Plus Extra tier. However, to take advantage of cloud streaming on the Portal, users must subscribe to the Premium tier. For those considering this upgrade, there’s an ongoing promotion valid until February 24, which offers a substantial 37% discount in the U. S., lowering the yearly subscription cost from $159.99 to just $99.99.
The release of these games follows Sony’s recent State of Play event on February 2025, which featured several significant announcements, including the anticipated release dates for Borderlands 4 (September 23) and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater (August 28).Among other exciting reveals, PlayStation concluded the event with a cinematic trailer for Saros, a new action title from the renowned developers at Housemarque, launching on PlayStation 5 in 2026.
