After years of relying on Everything Search for its remarkable speed, I discovered Listary, which offers integrated search functionality directly in File Explorer and various dialog boxes. This seamless integration allows for instantaneous access to files and folders simply by typing their names instead of navigating through directories.
Listary’s quick launcher, activated by pressing Ctrl twice, is a game-changer. By typing just a few characters, you can see results appear almost instantaneously, rivaling Everything’s performance. The fuzzy search feature is particularly impressive, enabling me to find files even if I make minor typos. For instance, typing budgt will still locate budget files effortlessly. Additionally, Listary can launch applications or command-line tools directly without needing to open a terminal window.
