45-year-old WWE star unexpectedly turning heel and betraying his faction at WrestleMania is possible, claims Matt Morgan

As a seasoned wrestler, Matt Morgan is convinced that Carlito may potentially become a villain and betray LWO at the upcoming WWE WrestleMania XL event.

Several months back, LWO was shocked by Santos Escobar’s treacherous act of turning on Rey Mysterio after Carlito’s arrival to the Stamford-based organization. Despite Escobar’s attack that left The Master of the 619 injured, Rey made a comeback last month after a few weeks of absence to seek revenge against the current head of Legado Del Fantasma.

Despite Mysterio challenging Escobar and Dominik Mysterio to a tag team match at WrestleMania, he opted to team up with Dragon Lee instead of Carlito. The latter appeared dissatisfied with the Hall of Famer’s choice.

At WrestleMania, Matt Morgan from the Gigantic Pop podcast proposed that Mysterio’s decision may result in Carlito betraying Dragon Lee.

“[I think by bringing in Dragon Lee you can’t have him lose already. When he announced Dragon Lee as his (partner)… unless you have Carlito turn on Dragon Lee at ‘Mania.] Could happen. Carlito is getting big reactions. They need to do something with him,”he said. [From 01:01:57 to 01:02:12]

Carlito reflects on his successful WWE comeback

Ever since making his comeback to the WWE, Carlito has primarily participated in tag team matches. However, he has also taken part in three individual matches, two of which were against Santos Escobar. In their initial match, Carlito succumbed to defeat against the leader of Legado Del Fantasma, but he managed to emerge victorious in their subsequent clash.

The ex-United States Champion appears to be content with his current position. During a recent interview on Stories with Briscoe and Bradshaw, the 45-year-old expressed that his primary role now is to mentor and support up-and-coming talent.

“It’s fun the second time around just because I’m one of the elder statesmen,”Carlito said. “I’m one of the veterans now… It’s cool now because my job is to help out the younger talent; that’s what I enjoy about it now, is being able to help these young guys and pass on whatever knowledge I have on to them,”he said.

Both Matt Morgan and Hall of Famer Bully Ray predict that there could be a betrayal in the storyline involving Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, The Rock, and Seth Rollins. It will be intriguing to see if there are any betrayals at this year’s Show of Shows, including the potential turn of Carlito on Dragon Lee.
