Prior to the anniversary, Tomohiko Sho, the head of Omega Force, conducted an informal social media poll to gauge interest in future non-Dynasty Warriors Musou games. The results revealed that Samurai Warriors topped the list with 43.5% of the votes, closely followed by Warriors Orochi at 37.1%.Notably, 16.1% of the 3, 434 voters expressed a desire for other dormant series, particularly highlighting Bandai Namco’s Gundam franchise, which has remained inactive since the release of Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn for PlayStation 3 and Vita in late 2013.

The anniversary commemorates the release of Shin Sangoku Musou for PlayStation 2 in Japan on August 3, 2000, known in the West as Dynasty Warriors 2.
