2026 Industrial Motherboard Roadmap Unveils Intel Nova Lake U/H CPU, Bartlett Lake-S, Panther Lake-H, and Wildcat Lake-U

Intel is poised to introduce its next generation of processors, namely Nova Lake and Panther Lake, as evidenced by recent entries in DFI’s strategic roadmaps for single board computers (SBCs) and System-on-Modules (SoMs).This initiative highlights Intel’s commitment to advancing embedded computing technology.

The latest roadmaps from DFI delineate four upcoming Intel CPU families that will shape the embedded computing landscape over the coming years. These families include Panther Lake, Nova Lake, Bartlett Lake, and Wildcat Lake, each designed to meet diverse market needs.

Focusing on the Panther Lake CPU family, it is already confirmed for public release within the consumer mobile segment in this year. DFI plans to incorporate Panther Lake into its SoM and SBC offerings, particularly the high-performance computing (HPC) modules using the 28W variant known as PTH9HA. Anticipated for late 2025, this variant will support advanced computational tasks.

In addition, the PTH9HM (Panther Lake U), a power-efficient 15W chipset, is projected for launch in 2026, catering to ultra-low power requirements. Moreover, the PTH960/968 series, designed for basic and compact modules, will target a 45W thermal design power (TDP) range and is expected to debut in early 2026.

In terms of desktop and mobile solutions, Intel’s Nova Lake, featuring both H and U series variants aimed at high-performance and ultra-low-power SBCs, has also been highlighted within the DFI SBC roadmap. Both Nova Lake lineups are slated for deployment in the latter half of 2026, with the Panther Lake U variant being released in early 2026 as well.

The roadmaps also indicate the upcoming Bartlett Lake CPUs, poised to enter the HPC sector. Notably, the Bartlett Lake S series is currently undergoing BIOS updates, signaling its completion and paving the way for a late 2023 release. Following this, the Bartlett Lake S 12P series will be available next year, also entering the BIOS update phase.

Lastly, the Twin Lake family is anticipated to enhance SBC solutions with compact 2.5″/1.8″x86 designs, aiming for an early 2025 launch. Twin Lake processors promise up to eight cores and will also feature in the ASL/TWL051 SBC, which will incorporate both Amston Lake and Twin Lake chips, although the Twin Lake SBC is still in development. Additionally, Intel is planning the Wildcat Lake U series, expected to succeed Twin Lake, delivering 15W chips for the 2.5″SBC around early 2026.
