Exciting Announcements from the Warhammer Skulls 2025 Livestream
The recent Warhammer Skulls 2025 livestream showcased a plethora of thrilling updates for the popular Warhammer 40K gaming universe. While we’ve already discussed Owlcat Games’ upcoming cRPG, Dark Heresy, and the remastered edition of Space Marine: Master Crafted Edition, the event featured several other noteworthy announcements.
Dawn of War: Definitive Edition Coming Soon
Real-time strategy enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that Relic Entertainment plans to release Dawn of War: Definitive Edition later this year. Available on PC via Steam and GOG, this edition contains all previous Dawn of War content, including four classic campaign stories, nine armies, and over 200 playable maps.
This revitalized version promises to elevate the gameplay experience with impressive 4K support, enhanced textures (four times the original quality), and image-based lighting that enhances visual fidelity. Gamers can look forward to refined world lighting, improved unit reflections and shadows, as well as new gloss and emissive lighting effects. Additionally, the gameplay camera has been optimized, and the HUD is redesigned for widescreen compatibility. Notably, the game has transitioned to a 64-bit platform to bolster modding efforts and maintain compatibility with existing community mods.
Darktide Enhancements from Fatshark
In other news, Fatshark has announced new features for Warhammer 40K: Darktide. Beginning June 23, players can look forward to the launch of the first paid DLC, the Arbites Class, priced at $11.99. On the same day, a complimentary update will enhance onboarding, narrative experiences, and the game’s difficulty progression system. All missions will be accessible at any difficulty level, providing a more flexible gameplay experience for all players.
Expansion of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2
Saber Interactive continues to build upon the success of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 with the introduction of an exciting co-op PvE Siege Mode, set to launch on June 26. In this mode, players can earn points as they conquer waves of enemies, ensuring intense gameplay reminiscent of classic Warhammer action.
Mechanicus II Gameplay Unveiled
Fans of tactical gameplay can look forward to Warhammer 40K: Mechanicus II, which is set for release later this year on PC and consoles. A newly released gameplay trailer showcases an intriguing new conflict between the Adeptus Mechanicus and the ancient Necron dynasty. Players can anticipate engaging tactical skirmishes across visually striking battlefields, each full of strategic opportunities for domination.
