By the third season, she had ballooned to an alarming 725 pounds, showing little interest in making healthier choices.

Troubling Relationships
Tammy’s experiences in love have not been encouraging, much like many of her relatives. Among her biggest heartbreaks was her relationship with Jerry Sykes. The couple met years before the show’s launch, connecting in a BBW chatroom before he visited her in Kentucky during season two. Tammy’s family was skeptical of Jerry, suspecting he was a “feeder”due to his unhealthy eating habits, which only exacerbated Tammy’s struggles with her diet.
In an effort to protect his sister, Tammy’s brother Chris Combs confronted Jerry about his influence during season two, urging him to stop bringing junk food into their home. Unfortunately, Jerry’s impact was damaging. Complicating matters, Jerry was married with seven children. He and Tammy’s affair became public knowledge, leading to a major fallout when his ex-wife revealed she discovered their relationship through the show’s airing. Although their relationship briefly ended during season two, they rekindled their romance in season three.
Tammy’s sister, Amy Slaton, openly criticized Jerry, stressing that her sister needed someone who would genuinely motivate her on her weight loss journey. Another disappointing chapter in Tammy’s love life involved Phillip Redmond, who she met in a BBW chatroom under the alias “The BBW King.”His fetishization of overweight women alarmed Tammy’s family, who felt it jeopardized her health. Ultimately, while Phillip claimed to support her weight loss, he had reservations about her dropping below 300 pounds. Their relationship culminated in a restraining order against him.
Finding True Love
Caleb Willingham
Amid her journey in season four of 1000-Lb Sisters, Tammy finally encountered a genuinely supportive partner. After a frightening health scare, she entered a diet rehabilitation facility, where she met Caleb Willingham. The 45-year-old poet and rapper, also grappling with his own food addiction, formed a meaningful bond with Tammy, culminating in their marriage in 2022. Unlike her previous relationships, Caleb encouraged her progress rather than hinder it.
As a result of her dedication, Tammy lost sufficient weight to qualify for bariatric surgery and left the facility, although Caleb, unfortunately, was not able to join her due to his weight loss journey not progressing as needed. Their separation was a challenge, and tragically, Caleb passed away just six months after their wedding, with the autopsy revealing complications from obesity as the cause. By the end of season five, Tammy faced the adversity of widowhood once more.

Following Caleb’s passing, Tammy has remained single but has not been short on unsolicited attention. Recently, she took to Instagram Stories to implore fans to refrain from sending her nude photos.
