On October 22, 2024, the World Music Awards’ official Twitter account (@WORLDMUSICAWARD) announced that Rosé of BLACKPINK achieved an extraordinary milestone on Spotify. Her recent solo track, “APT.”featuring Bruno Mars, became the first K-pop artist in 2024 to set the record for the highest streaming day on the platform.

Moreover, “APT.,”which was released globally on October 18, 2024, amassed an impressive 42.80 million streams within just four days. Rosé’s new achievement eclipses BLACKPINK’s previous record held by “Pink Venom”, marking a historic moment as she recorded the highest number of streams and the most successful debut week for any K-pop female solo artist on Spotify.

The song garnered over 6.85 million streams immediately upon its release, earning the No. 3 spot on Spotify’s Global Chart. This release became Bruno Mars’ most successful debut, outperforming his earlier collaboration with Lady Gaga, “Die With A Smile,”which recorded 4.58 million streams.

“APT.”established itself as the highest new entry in Spotify’s Top 10 charts as the only K-pop song in the list. With this single, Rosé achieved the biggest debut for a female K-pop soloist, surpassing the record previously held by BLACKPINK’s Lisa for “New Woman”(feat. Rosalía). Fans took to social media to celebrate Rosé’s remarkable success; one supporter expressed:

On September 27, 2024, Atlantic Records announced on its official social media platforms that they have signed Rosé for her solo music projects. This collaboration is a partnership deal between The Black Label, a subsidiary of YG Entertainment, and Atlantic Records.

To provide context, Rosé signed with The Black Label in June 2024 after ending her solo agreement with YG Entertainment in December 2023. Furthermore, she revealed that her upcoming debut album, titled “Rosie,”which will feature 12 tracks, is set to be released on December 6, 2024, under the American label.
