Major Updates in Zenless Zone Zero 1.7 Special Program
The 1.7 Zenless Zone Zero Special Program has officially revealed exciting new features, including the release date and the introduction of two new characters: Hugo and Vivian. Players can look forward to these developments, as everything is set to launch on April 23, 2025. Notably, players will also have the opportunity to earn a complimentary A-rank Bangboo character named Overtimeboo.
Plot Development and New Characters
A significant aspect of this update is the conclusion of the Mockingbird storyline, which heavily involves the new characters Hugo and Vivian. Both heroes will become playable as S-Rank Agents as the narrative unfolds. The chapter titled “Bury Your Tears With the Past [B]” sees Vivian arriving in the initial half of this update with her signature W-Engine, Flight of Fancy, while Hugo will debut later with his W-Engine, Myriad Eclipse. Additionally, each will feature segments in the Partner Archives File.
Exclusive Events and Returning Characters
The update will also bring a range of engaging events, including Say It With Flowers, where players can obtain items such as Polychromes. Another event, the Bangboo Bash, allows players to login and collect tokens usable in the supporter gacha. Notably, two returning A-Rank characters, Jane Doe and Lighter, will make a comeback through banners for this event.

What’s Next for Zenless Zone Zero?
As a reminder, there is more exciting news on the horizon. HoYoVerse will be hosting an Xbox Spotlight event for the game on April 11, 2025, at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET, promising updates related to the upcoming version.
Availability and Future Platforms
Currently, Zenless Zone Zero is accessible on PS5, PC, and mobile devices, with the highly anticipated 1.7 update scheduled for April 23, 2025. An Xbox Series X version is also in the works.
